Etho Ta Leme: CONTEST!
July 28, 2008 by greekmuslim

I have some great news! I’ve been working hard this past month to plan some awesome things for you behind the scenes. I can’t reveal all of them yet, but one thing’s for sure: we need a smashing new name for the website to replace the plain old “Greek Muslims” title.
And what better way to do it than to have a CONTEST?!
This new name will represent YOU and US as part of the FIRST and most dynamic online global Greek community so we need a captivating name that we can call ourselves.
And here’s the BEST PART. Whoever comes up with the best name for our community will win a prize worth $147USD. <— yes, that’s right!
All you have to do is come up with an outstanding name that fits the criteria below by Thursday, August 7th and you can have a chance to win the prize of transforming your life in a free 30 minute session with a DiscoverULife Muslim expert lifecoach certified and trained to help you on your way to acheive wealth, business, health, relationships, personal or spiritual mastery — whatever you choose! (Trust me, it’s no gimmick, I’ve tried it myself for 5 months and that’s what got me to start this website project! For more information, go to their website: www.discoverulife.com)
You don’t have to be a Greek Muslim to participate and you can be living in any area of the world to win the prize. You can submit more than one name and more than one time.
Here’s the criteria:
- Originality – it can’t be used anywhere else
- It has to sound good (Imagine you are talking to someone and you say, “Hey, I’m part of the ____ community online. It’s really awesome. Did you join yet?” )
- Meaning can represent a sense community/connection for Greek Muslims around the world
- Greek or English words or a mix of both (or make up a word!)
- Preferably 1 word, maximum 2
- Easy to spell; easy to remember
- Be creative. Think outside of the box. Write something unheard of (think of words like Amazon, Kodak, Adidas etc.)
I wish you all the best. You can either e-mail me the name(s) at info@greekmuslims.com or post it here in the comments. Any questions? Post them here. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Assalamu ‘alikum
Wow, It’s amazing how many people contributed since I last been here, great job.
Here are some name ideas:
New Greek Epoch
Allah’s Greeks
Ellines ya to kalo oxi to stavro
To Kako Stavro
Greeks against Paganism
Monotheist Greeks
Yunani Conversion
Greek Enlightenment
Greeks rethink Christianity
Muslim Greeks
Greek Monotheism
Ma sha Allah, I’m receiving nice contest entries already in comments section and emails alhamdulillah!
I forgot to mention this part – I’ll add it up top. Imagine you are talking to someone and you say, “Hey, I’m part of the ____ community online. It’s really awesome. Did you join yet?” You want that name to flow easily off your tongue and you want it to sound cool.
Good ideas so far. Keep going with it.
First of all, let me tell you that I find this project quite lame, with that money stuff and so forth, but anyway, I could propose some names since I’m quite the person to create catchy and meaningful names. I will think of some and will post them to you.
Greetings, Amir.
I didn’t really care for a prize either, in fact if I win don’t ell me just give it in sadaqa somewhere.
Thanks for your feedback. It’s nice to hear about everyone’s choices. I guess I should do a little explaining then.
Usually every contest has a prize, so when I was trying to think of one, I thought this one would be a cool one. Why? Because, I’ve tried it myself and it’s actually one of the best things that I have ever done in my ENTIRE life so I wanted to give that gift to someone else.
If you go to a non-Muslim lifecoach conference, sometimes they charge in the thousands of dollars just to attend because it makes such a huge impact on your life in areas that you are looking for, like business, wealth, spiritual, personal growth, success, marriage etc. (lots of celebrities and very rich successful people attend).
For the Muslim lifecoaching, I’ve personally seen lots of people mastering those areas as well, transforming their lives and becoming leaders in dawah or business. It’s actually truly outstanding, subhan Allah.
But in the end, like you said, everyone has their preference for a prize (or even no prize).
No problem. The main thing is the new name. I can’t wait to find out which name will make it as a winner.

Assalamu alaikum I cerrtainly enjoyed Muhammad Humza’s post. ‘To Kako Stavro’ made me laugh as did ‘Ellines ya to kalo oxi to stavro’
Here’s a silly one, combine the word ellines (greeks) with muslaman
