Behead the headless!
January 8, 2009 by ImanK
If I weren’t a Muslim, I would be scared of Islam. I mean, bombing innocent people and stoning women to death, it just seems like a barbaric religion that takes us back into ancient times that I would be mind-boggled as to why anyone would want to convert to Islam, let alone the tens of thousands that do so every year.
I would be scared too. But the fact is that none of that is true. Except for the part about the converts to Islam. That’s true.
Muslim haters have twisted the facts so much, that I don’t know what religion their words represent anymore. Maybe their own. The Islam that I know (and have proof of) says that killing a human being is like killing all of humanity.
“…whosoever kills a human being without (any reason like) man slaughter, or corruption on earth, it is as though he had killed all mankind and whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind.” (Quran 5:32)
I don’t care if that human being is white, black, red or yellow. Muslim, Christian, Jew or Atheist. Old, young, child or baby. A human is a human and it does not deserve to be slaughtered. That’s Islam. And that’s what it means to protect human sacredness.
Muslims stand up to any oppressor that breaks this sanctity and that’s what I like about the Greek spirit. We will always fight for freedom. That’s why we defend Gaza and the world leaders need to stop being scared of bullies who have the audacity to terrorize and then label the oppressed as terrorists. They need to come together and stand up with us against the real bully who beheads the headless.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is oppressed.” The Prophet was asked: “It is right to help him if he is oppressed, but how should we help him if he is an oppressor?” He replied: “By preventing him from oppressing others.” (Sahih Bukhari)

the problem my friend is that maybe Islam says the quote you mention (i.e. “…whosoever kills a human being without (any reason like) man slaughter, or corruption on earth, it is as though he had killed all mankind,…), however in Koran it is also mentioned that:
“And slay them wherever ye find them, and drive them out of the places whence they drove you out, for persecution [of Muslims] is worse than slaughter [of non-believers]…and fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah.” (Sura (2:191-193) – and that’s only an example of similar ones).
Koran is so contradictory and the Koranic language is so imprecise and flexible (or at least it has become so after so many years of stretching it so that everything can be explained with it) that as Kazantzakis put it, “you can find everything in it”.
I have nothing against you. But if Koran is indeed the work of God, then I would expect it to be much less self-contradictory. At least native speaking Arabs would have to understand its meaning clearly (apparently they don’t unless you are telling me that all these people who commit or push others to commit suicide-bombing etc can’t understand their mother language).
To me it looks just the work of a (otherwise very bright) human being – nothing more nothing less. And as such, it has all the imperfections that man-made works usually have, such as being open to misunderstandings, self-contradicting and over-highlighting author’s personal interests (if not mistaken one of the longest if not the longest Suras is about trading and loans – no wonder since Mohamed was a trader himself).
Never leave a rock unturned and good luck…
My friend,
You need to expose yourself much more in Quranic History, because this is an honest way to find out why the specific verse calls for war.
But actually it seems that you didn’t read what you quoted. The condition is to fight those who persecute you and drive you out from your land.
So i believe that you failed to show us the “contradiction”, plus i challenge you to bring more from the so called “quranic contradictions” and i promise i am gona refute them in the spot Allah willing.
You see, this is what happens when people with slim to no knowledge about the Quran start to claim they know how to interpret the Quran. It’s like a 6 year old, who is just starting to add and subtract going up to a university Math professor and telling them that they know nothing about Mathematics because the Pythagorean Theorem is contradictory. What should the professor do? Laugh? Ignore his primitive conclusion because a 6 year old obviously doesn’t know the first thing about the theorem? Or should he sit down with him and explain it to him politely knowing that he probably still won’t get it? Most professors would just laugh at the ridiculousness of the comment but understand he is just a 6 year old and hopefully grow out of it one day. But there’s one danger to that: what if the 6 year old ends up hating math all of his life and even worse, convinces all his friends that math is a load of … , and then doesn’t learn critical thinking or math skills to get a good job in life?
So, I guess I’ll have to answer your comment then in the next post.
First off, not every person is qualified to interpret the Quran. When people without knowledge of the entire religion of Islam do this, it’s very dangerous and misleads people. Secondly, there are only two main authentic ways to interpret the Quran. Either God explains one verse from another verse in the Quran or Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) explains the verse from divine guidance of God. See, because you didn’t bother to do that, you obviously came up with the simple 6 year old conclusion that these two verses are contradictory without knowing what the “professor” knows, and that is that the first verse pertains to a general case, including civilians and the second verse pertains to special laws that only come into effect when Muslims are at war (i.e. warfare laws) and they are being attacked by enemies and they have to defend themselves.
Furthermore, if you knew when that verse you quoted was revealed, as far as I can remember, it was AFTER more than 13 years of persecution, beatings, torture, economic, political and social boycotts of the enemy where for an entire 13 years Muslims were forbidden to even defend themselves from this. AFter all these years and they were finally able to escape to another city and build their own state and therefore millitary, when the enemies came to attack them, finally these verses you mention came down and basically said, ok….now (after 13 years of persecution by them), now you can defend yourself.
By the way, welcome to the website. My comments are not meant to offend. Just to tell the truth.
